NEW SINGLE FROM THE CREAKING CHAIR ‘PIECEWORKER’ * SUPPORT FROM DROWNED IN SOUND / GIGSLUTZ / BBC 6 MUSIC

The Creaking Chair is a musical project of Andrew A C Cooper, and ‘Pieceworker’ is the first single from the forthcoming album ‘Mainframe’. Delayed and distorted folk, melodic and nostalgic soundscapes. Robert Wyatt and Nick Drake echo subtly in the background alongside hints of 60s psychedelia such as Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett and Soft Machine.

‘Clockwork, automata, waltz, computers, cams, punched cards, cyclical, manufacturing, industry, routine, piece by piece, underwater, the 70s, the 90s, stopping time, tapes, love, lust, taboo, warmth, sonar, raindrops on corrugated iron, early farming, English folk, crops, Copper Family, drones, electronic, metal dropping, clunking camera winder, memories, digital archive, crumbling, time travel, museum hued in brown, musty, smoky, scratched and torn, colossus, Morse code, pencil and pad, ticker tape, flashing lights, twisting cogs, communication, messages, email, beacon, loading times, games, journeys, buses, nausea.’  …a stream of consciousness by Andrew A C Cooper.

‘Pieceworker’ is available as a hand painted lathe cut 7” disc. The accompanying artwork is hand painted by Ozzy Ellis  https://www.facebook.com/OzzyOwlis. There are 10 unique versions.
