Laura White – Martha

Soulful singer songwriter Laura White unveils new single ‘Martha’ on 9th December 2016. The single is taken from forthcoming EP ‘The Painted Door’ due for release on iluvlive Records in February 2017.

Following the success of her previous project No.95, which went to number 3 on the iTunes Soul & R&B chart in Feb 2016, Laura was snapped up by iluvlive Records and has been developing new material over the summer culminating in ‘The Painted Door’.

It’s been a great year for Laura with the ink just dried on a publishing deal with Peer Music and the release of Galantis and DJ Hook n Sling’s top 20 single ‘Love On Me’ which she co wrote and featured on.

Laura’s story in music began at just four years old, when she demonstrated a love for gospel and soul music, unlike any of her family at the time. At eight, Laura took up classical piano and clarinet and by thirteen, finally plucked up the courage to enter local music shows to sing her self-penned songs.

In the past five years Laura has written with world renowned producers Cutfather, Steve Booker and The Invisible Men writing for her own projects and other artists, including the global smash Gin Lee ‘Falling’ reaching number 1 in four countries and Rita Ora’s ‘NY Raining’ which also featured in smash hit TV show, Empire.

Of new single Martha, Laura says ‘Martha is a song I wrote about a girl who fell in love with a boy at first sight. Her name was Martha and she was trying to make someone see the girl she was and love her back. It is a tale of a love that never happened’
