‘Undeniably soul-moving’ – Earmilk
‘21st century funk, the slinky, contagious vocal sitting on top of some blasting horns and that filthy backbeat’ – Clash
‘I only play stuff that I love, I only play stuff that I can 100% stand behind and tell you that I believe you should know about these records’ – MistaJam,
The Fedz will release their brand new single ‘Best I Ever Had’, on 13th January 2017 – a song to make you feel warm this winter.
The band have also revealed an accompanying video for the track which truly captures what this collective is about. Taking to the streets to hold guerilla style parties, riding through London on a flatbed truck and bringing their own brand of disorganised fun.
The single follows on from their debut track ‘What’s my Name’ (“it sounds like a hot summers day” Clara Amfo – Radio 1) which achieved plays at Radio 1, Beats 1 and 1Xtra where it was championed by Mistajam. The collective are back with their latest offering ‘Best I Ever Had’ which is a reggae infused track, possessing distinctive head Fed Dennis Bovell’s musicality and influences.
The Fedz are a UK/US music collective, formed in January 2015 by Grammy and BRIT winning producers and an equally stellar cast of musicians/producers including three incredible new female vocalists and the legendary Dennis Bovell (Slits, Rip, Rig and Panic, The Pop Group) and James Poyser (Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Adele).
The collective’s main players are known for shaping the careers of Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, The Slits, Beyonce, Jay Z, Rihanna, Stormzy, WSTRN, Labyrinth, Bugzy Malone, Lady Leshurr, The Prodigy and Ed Sheeran.
