Anarchy Reign’s “Liars” Kickstarts Metal’s Fightback

Just when you thought all music had become bland and safe, along come Anarchy Reigns, a British industrial metal band with a rallying call to arms. The anarchy is mercifully restrained, however – acts of gentle anarchy are spreading like wildfire, due to the band’s social media (see links below) but behind the shindigs is a serious message – that people shouldn’t be satisfied with not having their voice heard.

One person whose voice you will certainly be hearing more of is that of lead Anarchist, Hitch, a whirlwind of anger, humour and slightly theatrical vocals. Live shows are the stuff of legend, seeing the great man descend from the heavens to the stage via his spaceship – who said showbiz was dead?!

Liars is a real earworm which promises much for the release of the EP in the new year. There’s a revolution brewing and it’s wearing leather trousers…

Shackleton Set to Take The World by Storm – The incredible debut album out on August 8th

The Shackleton Experience is the brain child of Minnesota native Karl Schmaltz. Karl, a 19-year old musician is the sole contributor to this project and it is a testament to his musical prowess and technical gifts that he has managed to craft an album of such complexity.

Karl took a leaf out of Bon Iver’s book and moved to a secluded farm in Wisconsin to record the album, focusing all his energy on this release. You can sense the exuberance and creative passion that has gone into this release; it feels like an extension of Karl’s personality and an honest representation of his own personal musical ideals.

The Shackleton Experience transports the listener 100 years back in time, charting the journey of Shackleton to the Antarctic. You can feel the ship’s bow slicing through solid ice blocks and the crunch of boots on the snow. The complete DIY approach to the album is a testament to creator Karl’s musical prowess. Karl single-handedly researched the project, wrote the script, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered the whole album. It is this commitment to excellence that really sets The Shackleton Experience apart from other releases you will hear this year.

The music has been described a “metal opera” but in some ways it is unlike anything heard before. It is both educational and sonically pleasurable, combining multiple genres and a story telling aesthetic to create something truly original.

The Shackleton Experience is almost revolutionary in its scope. By carving out a genre of its own, The Shackleton Experience is set to take the world by storm.

Expect the full length release on August  8th the 101st anniversary of Shackleton leaving England.

Deadly Circus Fire’s New Album: ‘The Hydra’s Tailor’

Described by Metal Hammer as “one of the most imaginative and formidable” prog bands currently plying their trade, Deadly Circus Fire are a London based band who thrive on getting stronger and stronger in their battle with the mainstream. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Tool, Mastodon and Deftones, mixing heavy guitars with melodious moments to create something special.

And it does take something special to turn heads at publications like Metal Hammer, as well as Classic Rock, who described Deadly Circus Fire as “one of the most striking young prog metal bands to come on the scene in the past couple of years”. For a taste of what Deadly Circus Fire are all about, here’s the video for album track ‘House of Plagues’:

It’s clear that Deadly Circus Fire are a band who will make a mark on the metal music scene. They’ve already supported huge cult band Skindred on a European tour, counting it among their career highlights so far. They also previously caused quite a stir by performing in zombie clown make up.

In time though, the music of Deadly Circus Fire has evolved to speak for itself, making a huge impact both live and in the studio without the need for such on stage histrionics.

For more on the album, check out the video below.

12 track album due on June 16th through Musicarchy Media
